Course Project Math 103 1999
Guidelines:
- During the first six weeks of the quarter set up a notebook or folder, containing all problems (from worksheets, corrected, homework, quizzes, or exams etc., in either Math 103 or Math 104) that you had difficulty with. For each of these problems, identify the issues or skills that were lacking from the following list: solving equations, factoring, simplifying, working with exponents, graphing, or computing (i.e., arithmetic). Group together problems that involve the same issue or skill.
On the back of this page is a chart whose headings are the above issues and skills. Every time you add a problem to your folder or notebook, enter an x in the appropriate column(s). At any given time in the quarter, your BigThree consists of the three skills or issues that have the most entries in your chart.
During the first eight weeks of the quarter collect examples (same sources as above) that demonstrate that you have overcome an issue or skill that were having trouble with earlier. You can use the same or different folders or notebooks.
- During the eighth and ninth weeks of the quarter, use the examples that you have been collecting to determine whether or not you have made progress with your BigThree. For each of your BigThree, write a brief paragraph indicating why you think that progress was either made or not made
- The Course project for Math 103 is due on Tuesday, November 23rd, 1999.
