Affective Domain Resources
Below are some examples of explicit consideration of the affective domain in three different educational settings: liberal arts, environmental education, and professional education (i.e., dental assitant). I've also found an affective domain chart with lists of verbs corresponding to each level. As one might suspect, the institution that appears to have done the best job of thinking about the integration of the affective domain into the curriculum is Alverno College. Alverno publishes an excellent little book--Earley, M. et al. (1980) Valuing at Alverno: The Valuing Process in Liberal Education. Milwaukee, WI: Alverno Productions--that describes how the college has introduced affective outcomes deliberately into the curriculum and related issues. A few websites address the affective domain issue as well:
These resources offer a start to those interested in consciously acknowledging this vital, but often unacknowledged part of the learning process. -- Virginia S. Lee
