Description
The University Continuing Education Association (UCEA) has been helping colleges and universities to provide educational access to adults since 1915. UCEA's membership includes public and private institutions offering both credit and non credit instruction at the pre- and post-baccalaureate levels to part-time students. The association is committed to professionalism, to excellence in continuing higher education and to advancing knowledge about the field. Member services include: providing research and knowledge about the field; tracking legislation and public policy issues of importance to continuing higher education; organizing and conducting professional development seminars and conferences; recognizing excellence through a national awards program; promoting workforce education and training; assisting higher education institutions in coping with increased globalization through transnational exchanges and agreements; and helping to advance the state of distance learning and the use of information technologies to support education. The association was formerly known as the National University Continuing Education Association.
