National Association of Independent Colleges and Universities
(NAICU)
1025 Connecticut Avenue, N.W., Suite 700
Description
Located in Washington, DC, NAICU's primary objective is
to help its members by informing the public and government about
the accomplishments and concerns of independent higher education.
To achieve this goal, NAICU's staff meets with policymakers,
publishes information, and helps coordinate state-level activities.
In addition, NAICU provides research devoted solely to the study
of America's independent colleges and universities. Data,
information, and analyses on private higher education are provided
to member institutions, federal policymakers, and the general
public. Since 1976, NAICU's members have reflected the diversity of private, non-profit higher education in the United States. NAICU's members include traditional liberal arts colleges, major research universities, church- and faith-related colleges, historically black colleges, women's colleges and schools of law, medicine, engineering, business and other professions.
