Description
The Hispanic Association of Colleges and Universities (HACU) was founded in 1986 in response to issues facing Hispanic college students and the institutions that serve them. HACU, the voice of Hispanic higher education in the United States, advocates for policies and initiatives that support these institutions. The Association represents 160 Hispanic-Serving Institutions (HSIs) of higher education where the Hispanic enrollment is 25 percent or more at either the undergraduate or graduate level. Associate members enroll 10 percent or more than 1,000 Hispanics. HACU also has an international membership category.

The mission of the association is to enhance the capacity of its member institutions and to advance Hispanic student success through research, advocacy and education programs. HACU's activities are made possible by gifts and grants from corporations, business, government agreements, and the generosity of individuals throughout the country.
