Teaching and Learning Grant Opportunities

The Oryx Press, the original co-publisher of The National Teaching and Learning Forum (which later became an imprint f Greenwood Publishing Group), had one of the most comprehensive databases of grants information available anywhere. From that database, we have culled this selection of 35 grants which should be of interest to faculty and instructional development specialists and to faculty with an interest in teaching and curriculum development. Several searches of the database have been made and I have reviewed them with the Forum's readership in mind. This list does not include every grant opportunity with key words such as "teaching and learning," "faculty development," "curriculum," and "college instruction," but it includes a wide variety. In reading such descriptions, you will likely find a close match between a program you have designed and need to fund. As experienced grant writers know, reading the descriptions of the grants that foundations and government agencies are awarding often stimulates creative thinking about new things that one could do on campus. And it often happens that one begins to see what one is already doing in a broader context. We hope this information proves useful to you. Please let us know if it does and share with us your suggestions for improving this resource. --James Rhem, Executive Editor
