James S. McDonnell Foundation Grants

The foundation's broad fields of interest are psychology and the behavioral sciences, and its primary program interests are in the areas of biomedical and behavioral sciences research and related educational innovations. Grants are awarded to support medical research, including laboratory research, neuroscience/cancer research, and other types of research. Health-related human services support is awarded in the area of infant/early childhood development. If funds are available outside foundation-initiated programs, requests for funding will be reviewed under general guidelines that support basic research in the biological and behavioral sciences, particularly projects that integrate biological and behavioral approaches to the study of higher brain function; research in cognitive, behavioral, and social sciences to improve curricula, learning, teaching, and teacher training; and activities related to foundation-initiated programs that require international collaboration and address the needs of developing countries. Eligibility requirements, current programs, and guidelines are available on the Web site.
