Theodore M. Hesburgh Faculty Development Award The program seeks to strengthen the teaching tradition at US undergraduate colleges and universities by acknowledging and rewarding exceptional faculty-development programs. The award will be presented to the college or university judged to have the most effective faculty-development program. Certificates of Excellence also will be awarded to five other meritorious faculty-development programs. The winners will be chosen by a panel of experts in the field of higher education. The award will be presented at the annual meeting of the American Council on Education. Restrictions: While more than one program may be submitted, no institution will receive more than one award. Requirements: US undergraduate colleges and universities--both public and private, two- and four-year--are eligible for nomination. Nominated programs should have a proven three-year track record. Faculty-development programs should be nominated by the sponsoring institution and approved by its president or academic dean.
